2018 Rules

  1. Track officials’ decision will be final. We cannot make rules to fit everyone’s needs and desires. So if you run, please be willing to go by the rules outlined on this paper.
  2. No alcoholic beverages on premises of Dawgwood Speedway at any time.
  3. Fighting will not be tolerated. If you start a fight, you will be banned from the premises.
    1. First offense two races. Second offense one year.
  4. No open flames to be used inside a trailer.
  5. All drivers are responsible for his/her pit crew at all times.
  6. We will not tolerate disrespect, arguing with any official or foul language.
  7. In the event of a rain out the gate, money will be applied to the next week’s race. No monetary refunds will be given.
  8. Armbands are to worn at all times.
  9. Any driver under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian sign the insurance waiver.
  10. Drivers need to pay attention to all officials, flags and track lights at all times.
  11. All drivers are to wear full-face helmets, neck braces, gloves and a jacket or suit at all times on the track.
  12. All starts will be single file and restarts will be slowly off turn four.
  13. No working on you kart on the track unless an official gives you permission.
  14. If you pull off the track during a race, you cannot reenter the track.
  15. If you spin out, and a caution comes out you will go to the rear of the field.
  16. When a caution comes out, we will line up according to the last completed green flag lap.
  17. THERE WILL BE NO WARNING FOR ROUGH DRIVING.
  18. We will enforce the three-spin rule.
  19. Lapped karts will observe the blue flag and move up out of the racing groove or will be black-flagged.
  20. Any driver that does not obey the black flag will be banned for one race.
  21. No one is to enter track unless an official gives you permission.
  22. No weaving of karts coming to the green flag.
  23. All kids are to park their bikes at sundown.
  24. Payout is to be picked up on the day of the race after tech has been completed. Dawgwood Speedway is not reasonable for your payout if you leave the track and do not pick it up.
  25. In the event of a rain out your entry fee will be transferred to the makeup dates.
  26. Nothing can be fixed to your helmets. No Go-Pro Cameras.
  27. All hair must fit inside of the helmet or inside of your jacket. It cannot be free.
  28. If your class has been set on to the track and you are late you are to fall to the back of the field.
  1. You cannot drop a DQ. You can drop a zero.
  2. You must run seven or more point races to receive any awards at the end of the year.
  3. Any class that does not have at least 4 or more entries will be dropped from the point series. We will still run them on any given night.
  4. There will be no sub drivers this year. No buying points.
  5. 5 points will be awarded to drivers who attend all points races.
  6. Clarification how on ties are broken. In the event of a tie, the following procure will be put into effect. Excluding the drop race, the tie will be broken by which driver has the most wins. If the tie is not broken, the tie will be broken by the driver who has the most 2nd, if not broken then 3rd and so on. If there is still a tie, it will be broken by who has the highest finishing position in the last race.

Transponders

  1. It is the responsibility of the driver to pick up and return their transponders.
  2. If you race without it, you will receive last place points.
  3. Transponders must be a pouch on the steering column. If you place it in your pocket, you will be DQ’ed.
  4. Transponders will be the official scoring system of Dawgwood Speedway.
  5. Race Monitor app is a courtesy provided by the scoring staff for entertainment purposes only.  Race Monitor is not and cannot be used in determining official results.
  6. Once qualifying has started you can not drop out. You can register and start in the back after qualifying.
  1. The only person allowed in the tech room during a tear down is the person tearing down the engine.
  2. Any protest must be made within 10 minutes of the race or once karts clear gates the race will be official and no protest can be made.
  3. Only the driver can protest another kart that finished directly in front of them.
  4. All classes will run under 2017 AKRA or NKA Tech rules.
  5. All gas must contain ethanol. (Preferred Gas Station is the ABC stores located at both ends of hwy 225)
  6. Costs for protest are as follows.
  • Restrictor Plate $10
  • Fuel and Oil $20
  • $25
  • Full Tear Down $150

PARKING RULES

  1. Vehicle + trailer per spot. Additional vehicles MUST park in spectator parking.
  2. All personal belongings (tent, karts, parts, etc.) must be kept within your parking spot.
  3. All Bikes are to be parked at sundown for safety reasons.
  4. Alcohol is NOT permitted on the premises of Dawgwood Speedway.

  1. GREEN FLAG – The green flag will start the race. All starts are at the last cone in turn 4.
  2. YELLOW FLAG – All karts will slow down and follow the kart ahead of them at the time the caution came out. We will reline up based off of the last fully completed green flag lap.
  3. RED FLAG – This flag means danger, stop as quickly as possible. Do not pass the flagman We will reline up based off of the last fully completed green flag lap.
  4. BLACK FLAG – This means pull into the pits. You are no longer being scored.
  5. BLACK FLAG ROLLED UP – This is a warning.
  6. BLUE WITH YELLOW STRIPES FLAG – Lap flag. Displayed to drivers being lapped – must allow lead cars to pass. Move to the top side of the track.
  7. WHITE FLAG – One (1) lap to go. This is a courtesy flag an may not be shown.
  8. CHECKERED FLAG – The Race is run. It’s over.
